School Supply Press Release 2017 Wrap

Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation hostedtheir annual School Supply Drivelast month, and delivered all the items collected to Park Avenue Elementary School in Amityville, and Northern Parkway Elementary School in Uniondale. Thousands of school supplies ranging from backpacks, to pencils, to crayons were collected at Adventureland with the help of Cox Media’s 102.3 WBAB and 106.1 BLI.

This year was our most successful school supply drive yet! The Helping Hands Foundation and Cox Media donated over 2,500 backpacks to the drive, and thousands of school supplies like notebooks, folders, glue sticks, and more were collected throughout the month of August.

On August 16th, Adventureland hosted National Roller Coaster Day. In celebration of this tradition, guests that donated school supplies received free rides all day on the Turbulence Roller Coaster and the Lady Bug Roller Coaster. Many donations were also received during the Back to School Bash hosted by WBAB and WBLI at Adventureland.

Alfie and members of the Helping Hands Foundation visited both Park Avenue Elementary and Northern Parkway Elementary to help give out the supplies to students.

We look forward to the continued success of the School Supply Drive!
