To Host Annual Christmas In July

Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation will be collecting toys during the entire month of July for Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Our goal is to exceed the 1000 toys we collected for these charities last July. Toys can be dropped off at Adventureland’s Main Ticket Booth or Back Ticket Booth every day in July from 11am until 9pm. Donors will receive a free giveaway for each toy they donate.

The Helping Hands Foundation and Adventureland, in collaboration with Cox Media’s 102.3 WBAB and 106.1 BLI, will be hosting Christmas in July themed activities and events every Saturday from 7/8-7/29, including live musical performances and even visits from Santa! Santa will be at Adventureland from 5pm-7pm on 7/15, 7/22, and 7/29 to take photos with guests. Ronald McDonald will also be stopping by for photos on the evening of 7/10.

Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Bronze Award Project

April 2017: Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation donated $1,000 to the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Troop 239,out of Huntington Station, to assist them with their Bronze Award Community Service Project. To educate the public about recycling, the scouts collected plastic caps and lids from local elementary schools. These items were then recycled to create beautiful benches that will be placed throughout the South Huntington School District.

The funds donated by The Helping Hands Foundation assisted the troop in covering the production and shipping costs of the bench. In total, Troop 239 has prevented over 1,200 pounds of plastics caps and lids from being littered or ending up in a landfill.

Last week, Troop 239 held a bench unveiling ceremony at Birchwood Intermediate School, since they dedicated the bench to a 3rd grade student who passed away suddenly this past year. The “Buddy Bench” will be located on the playground, and children who feel lonely or sad can sit on the bench and a “buddy” will approach them and try to cheer them up.

Beat the Heat

Adventureland features many ways to cool down on hot summer days! In addition to our three water rides, we have air-conditioned areas and misting fans located throughout the park.

For kiddies to cool off, splash around on the Little Dipper Log Flume. This pint-sized water slide is located on the edge of Kidde Land, between the Carousel and Crocodile Run. Riders must be at least 36 inches tall to enjoy this ride with an adult or 44 inches tall to ride alone. Please keep in mind as with all the rides at Adventureland, an adult is someone 18 years old or older, and all riders, including the adult accompanying a child, must have tickets or a Pay One Price (POP) unlimited riding bracelet to ride. The Little Dipper Log Flume requires either the POP bracelet or 4 single tickets per person.

The Little Dipper also features a Photo Stand that catches all the smiles and screams on camera! The camera snaps a photo as you splash down the lift, and you can purchase souvenir gifts like a photo snow globes and keychains, and prints in all sizes in souvenir frames. You can even purchase digital access to your photos to share the online with family and friends and on social media. Remember to tag @adventurelandli for Twitter and Instagram posts, and Long Island Adventureland for Facebook posts.
