VIP Night Press Release

Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation hostedour first V.I.P. Friends and Family Fundraiser on Friday, September 8th at Adventureland. This event featured a night of unlimited rides, food, snacks, and fun for guests, all while helping support the many goals of The Helping Hands Foundation. Live entertainment, games, and prizes made the night truly unforgettable. Funds were raised from sponsorships and raffles—combined, The Helping Hands Foundation raised over $110,000! Technology Day Press Release 2017

Over 2,400 middle school students from Long Island public schools and catholic schools will have a day of learning disguised as fun at Technology Day 2017 at Adventureland in Farmingdale, held October 12th and 13th. This out of classroom experience was developed by both the Nassau and Suffolk Technology Education Educators’ Associations for seventh grade students. Technology Day challenges students to use the skills they learn in multiple classes and apply those skills to complete a workbook with a variety of questions about ride design and operation. School Supply Press Release 2017 Wrap

Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation hostedtheir annual School Supply Drivelast month, and delivered all the items collected to Park Avenue Elementary School in Amityville, and Northern Parkway Elementary School in Uniondale. Thousands of school supplies ranging from backpacks, to pencils, to crayons were collected at Adventureland with the help of Cox Media’s 102.3 WBAB and 106.1 BLI. Adventureland’sHelping Hands Foundation is hosting their 2nd annual Fall Food Drive this year benefitting the Town of Babylon Food Pantry and Long Island Harvest. With the goal of donating over100 Thanksgiving Baskets filled with all the trimmings to each organization, the Helping Hands Foundation aims to feed over 500 Long Islanders in need. Christmas In July Wrap Up Press Release 2017

Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation’s annual Christmas in July came to an end on Monday, July 31st. The landmark family amusement park decked the halls with thousands of lights, sang carols with the Uniondale High School Show Choir and got a visit from the man with all the toys, Santa Claus, all to support their nonprofit’s goal to collect 1,000 toys. Book Fairies Press Release

On September 13th, Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation donated $1,000 and over 100 books to The Book Fairies, a nonprofit organization that accepts donations of new and gently used books and connects them with the children who need them most. Founded by Amy Zaslansky in 2012, The Book Fairies work with libraries, schools, and organizations to help foster the love of reading in children in high need areas. Annual School Supply Drive

Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation will be hosting their annual School Supply Drive starting August 1st. New school supplies ranging from backpacks, to pencils, to crayons will be collected at Adventureland and donated to a local school district in need. Scholarships to Long Island High School Seniors

Adventureland’s nonprofit organization, The Helping Hands Foundation, selected ten Long Island High School seniors to receive the Tony Gentile Memorial Scholarship. Award recipients were selected out of nearly 100 applicants by the board of the Helping Hands Foundation. Each graduating High School senior received a $1,000 scholarship to be used towards their first semester at a Long Island college or university. On Tuesday, August 2nd, Anna P. from Long Beach became Turbulence’s one millionth rider! Long Island Adventureland celebrated this momentous event with a brief ribbon cutting and by awarding Anna with 2017 & 2018 Season Passes, a prize pack of Turbulence gear, and a permanent spot in Adventureland history. Donates $1,000 to Magic Aid

Last week, Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation donated $1,000 and a variety of magic tricks to Magic Aid, a nonprofit organization that teaches the children at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital magic. Founded by medical student David Elkin in 2007, Magic Aid helps relieve the stress children experience with hospitalization by performing and teaching magic to young patients. Dedicated to bridging magic and medicine through the use of magic therapy, David and his team are striving to enhance the quality of care provided to patients, one card trick at a time. Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation will be collecting toys during the entire month of July for Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Our goal is to exceed the 1000 toys we collected for these charities last July. Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Bronze Award Project

April 2017: Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation donated $1,000 to the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Troop 239,out of Huntington Station, to assist them with their Bronze Award Community Service Project. To educate the public about recycling, the scouts collected plastic caps and lids from local elementary schools. These items were then recycled to create beautiful benches that will be placed throughout the South Huntington School District.
